2025 Summer Musical:
Calling all ogres, donkeys, and fairytale misfits! Shrek JR. is a hilarious, high-energy adventure full of twisted fairytales, big laughs, and even bigger personalities. When a grumpy green ogre and his chatty sidekick set off to rescue a not-so-typical princess, things get a little… swampy. With show-stopping songs and fun roles for all ages, this is one musical that’s layers of fun! Join the cast TODAY—because this fairy tale needs YOU!

This production is for performers ages 6-18 - no experience required. All who audition will receive a part!
Rehearsals are June 17th - August 15th.
The final performance will be Saturday, August 16th!

The deadline to order your add-on gift is December 10th, with pickup of the gift the week of December 16th-21st.

Registration & Rehearsal:
Shrek Jr. The Musical is a fun-filled, family-friendly stage adaptation of the hit animated film Shrek and the Broadway musical. This junior version is designed for young performers ages 6-18.
📅 Weekly Class Rehearsals:
June 17th - August 15th,
Every Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday: 12:00-3:00 pm
*Please note that attendance is crucial to a production, be prepared to commit to the rehearsal schedule. Pre-schedule absences can be discussed with the director. Pre-existing conflicts will not effect role placement.

🚗 Transportation: Carpool opportunities may be available! After completing checkout, you’ll be able to indicate any transportation needs on your student’s audition form questionnaire (see your confirmation email). If you register and carpooling is essential for your participation, we will gladly reimburse you if we’re unable to arrange transportation.
Audition Day: Tuesday, June 10th
All students who register for the musical will get a part! However, auditioning is mandatory for the directorial staff to cast the show.

📍 Location: APA Franklin Studio, 10001 St. Martins Rd, Franklin WI
⏳ Time Slots: Students will sign up for a 30-minute time block between 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM (maximum 5 students per block).
Important Information:
✔ Arrival: Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time.
✔ Duration: Plan to stay up to 15 minutes after in case of delays.
✔ Handouts: At the end of the audition, students will receive a handout with important details.
✔ Callbacks: If needed, callbacks will be listed on the handout and held at 7:30 PM the same night. No Callback? Don’t worry! It means we've already found the perfect role for you.

Workshops!
In addition to signing up to join the musical - we will also offer OPTIONAL, but recommended, Workshops to prepare for auditions, and a full musical theatre production. Our workshops are highly recommended for anyone who is wanting a larger part! You signup/purchase your workshop at the same time as your Shrek Cast Registration.
*Students do not have to enroll in our Musical in order to participate in our workshops!

Class Breakdown:
This intensive is perfect for students looking to build endurance, technique, and confidence in musical theater!
-Cardio & Core Training (30 min): Learn how to activate core muscles for stability while singing and dancing.
-Vocal Training (30 min): Work on harmonizing, vocal blending, and breathing techniques using a piece from Shrek Jr.: The Musical.
-Choreography (30 min): Master dynamic movement, synchronization, and fast-paced choreography for the same number.
-Final Performance: Apply all skills learned in a supportive, judgment-free setting.
