FAQ's!

What makes APA's Daytime Classes a good fit for homeschoolers?

Our daytime sessions were created with homeschool families in mind! These 6-week classes offer a structured yet playful environment where kids can explore the performing arts, meet other homeschoolers, and develop confidence—all during your typical school day.

Are these classes open to non-homeschoolers?

While anyone is welcome, these sessions are scheduled specifically for families who educate at home and are looking for enriching, social learning opportunities during daytime hours.

What are the benefits of a 6 Week Session?

6 week classes are the perfect low-commitment option for your busy schedule! No required dress code, performances, or yearly membership fee! Each class runs as a stand-alone session with fresh material every time, so students can enroll in one or both—and return for future sessions without repeating content. New songs, choreography, and technique are introduced in every round!

What should my child wear to class?

Students can wear comfortable, modest activewear that allows for easy movement—like leggings, t-shirts, or dance attire if they have it. Clean sneakers or jazz shoes are great, but not required for first-timers.

Do boys participate too?

Absolutely! Our classes are open and welcoming to all students. Our Musical Theatre and Dance Sampler classes include styles and activities that are engaging and inclusive for both boys and girls.

Do you play age-appropriate music and use modest choreography?

Yes. We are very intentional about using family-friendly music, lyrics, and movement that align with the values of our community—especially for younger and homeschool students.

Can I stay and observe the class?

While we don’t offer in-room observation (to help kids stay focused), we do have one-way viewing windows, and additional seating nearby.

Can siblings join or watch?

Only registered students may participate in class, but younger siblings are welcome to wait in the lobby with a parent. (We suggest bringing a quiet activity for them!)

Can we join mid-session?

We recommend starting at the beginning of a session so your child gets the full experience, but if there’s still room and you’re interested, just reach out—we’re happy to help. Contact us at [email protected]

APA offers a variety of dance, music, and theatre classes for ages 2 and up, at our two studio locations in Oak Creek & Franklin, WI. We also own our sister studio, Next Step Dance Studio!

What Parents Have To Say:

★★★★★

Our son started out with voice lessons but now also loves his APA drama club, musical theatre, and dance classes! He has participated in several theatre productions too and the atmosphere is super positive and welcoming. APA and its excellent staff have helped him learn and grow and we look forward to all their upcoming productions.

★★★★★

My daughter has been taking piano at APA for almost 2 years now. Her teachers have been great. She loves going and she’s learned so much already. They have a recital twice a year which is fun for the family’s to come and watch. Great place for lessons, would definitely recommend.

★★★★★

My family loves APA! My daughter has been taking piano lessons at the Oak Creek location for more than 6 years. She loves the teachers, atmosphere, and the opportunities she continues to receive as a musician. We can't wait to enroll our 3 year old in music classes in the near future as we know all the great benefits that come from learning to play an instrument.
