Our NEW APA/NSDS Performance Team gives dancers additional opportunities throughout the year to perform, grow, and build confidence in a fun and supportive team environment.

This full-year performance program is perfect for dancers who are looking for:

Dancers will continue developing technique, showmanship, teamwork, and confidence while representing APA/NSDS at a variety of exciting events throughout the year

Take Your Dance Skills to New Heights! Whether you're perfecting your technique or gearing up for auditions, this class is your key to success. Don't miss the chance to shine in our 4-week mini prep-session! Geared towards students interested in POMS teams!

*no class on 3/26 for spring break

PROGRAM DETAILS

General Program Information:

Starting June 2026, dancers enrolled in the APA/NSDS Performance Team will participate in additional community performance opportunities throughout the year while building confidence, teamwork, and performance skills in a supportive environment.

Classes will take place at Next Step Dance Studio.

Requisites:

- For dancers ages 6 and up!

- Full-year commitment required

- Dancers must be enrolled in:

+ the weekly Performance Team rehearsal class.

+ AND at least one additional recreational or competitive dance class.

Summer Prep Classes

Mondays | 7:00–7:45 PM

- 8 Week Session

- June 29 – August 17

- Tuition: $122

Participation in the summer session is required for all dancers joining the 2026–27 Performance Team.

- September 9 – June 9

- Tuition: $80/month

- Includes costume and tights

Payment Details:

This Performance Team is a full-year class that will be billed at $80/month starting in September.

The required summer session fee of $122 will be charged now upon registration to save your spot.

Program Requirements:

- Open to dancers ages 6 and up!

- Participation in the Summer Prep Session is required

- Dancers must also be enrolled in at least one additional recreational or competitive dance class during the school year at APA or Next Step Dance Studio.

We understand many dancers are involved in multiple activities! Families currently participating in competitive dance or other team sports should ensure they can comfortably balance all schedules and commitments before enrolling. Because this program includes weekly Wednesday rehearsals and multiple performance opportunities throughout the season, dancers must consistently attend scheduled classes, rehearsals, and performances. If a dancer has ongoing conflicts during the Wednesday rehearsal time or performance dates, this program may not be the best fit at this time.

Exciting Performance Opportunities Throughout the Season!

Performance Team dancers will have the opportunity to perform at a variety of exciting community events and venues throughout the year while gaining valuable stage experience and building confidence as performers.

Because many of these performances are not scheduled until one to two months in advance, dancers are not required to attend every event. Once a performance opportunity is confirmed, a Google Form will be sent out for dancers to sign up. Choreography will be designed to be flexible, allowing the dance to be performed successfully regardless of which dancers are available to participate.

Is This Different Than Competitive Dance?

Performance Team is designed for dancers who want additional performance opportunities without the full competitive team commitment.

What's The Tuition Cost?

Performance Team tuition is separate from regular class tuition, as dancers are required to remain enrolled in an additional recreational or competitive class throughout the season.

What's The Dress Code?

There is no dress code for the summer session. During the school year starting in September, dancers will follow the standard recreational class dress code associated with their additional enrolled dance class at APA or Next Step. Dancers should wear a dress code leotard from their other recreational or competitive classes and tan jazz shoes.
